New Wireless Printing
Capability to be Unveiled at COMDEX/Fall 2000
SPARTA, N.J. - November
2, 2000 - Bachmann Software & Services announced today that
it has unveiled Bluetoothô wireless printing capabilities for
its popular PrintBoy“ software. The result will be mobile printing
for handhelds at greater distances than ever.
Bachmann was invited
by InnTechnology and TROY XCD to join other industry leaders
in a demonstration of Bluetooth wireless printing from a handheld
computer Monday, Nov. 13, during COMDEX/Fall 2000 in Las Vegas.
During the demonstration,
Bachmann will showcase its popular PrintBoy software, which
will perform wireless printing from a Handspring Visor using
Bluetooth technology to a Hewlett-Packard OfficeJet printer.
The demonstration will be part of a larger event being hosted
by InnTechnology featuring real-world Bluetooth applications
at The Venetian hotel during COMDEX/Fall 2000, which is set
for Nov. 13-17 in Las Vegas. Members of the press are invited

links between computing and communication devices such as personal
digital assistants (PDAs), printers, cellular telephones, networks
and laptops. Bluetooth represents a significant improvement
over today's limited infrared connections, extending the coverage
area by a factor of 10 or more. The communications research
firm Cahners In-Stat Group predicts that Bluetooth-enabled consumer
products will exceed 1 billion by 2005.

Widcomm, which creates Bluetooth-compatible adapters, will provide
its BlueConnect Handspring adapter, enabling Bluetooth connectivity
from a Handspring Visor.
