Enables wireless printing of documents, spreadsheets and presentations from Series 60 smartphones to popular office printers

SPARTA, NJ - June 16, 2004... - Bachmann Software, a leading provider of mobile computing software and solutions, today publicly released PrintBoy for Series 60 Smartphones for sale on its online store at Series 60 is the world’s leading smartphone platform, with millions of devices in the market ready for the deployment of quality mobile applications.

PrintBoy for Series 60 provides wireless printing functionality for owners of Symbian OS-based Series 60 smartphones, enabling users to print Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files directly from their handhelds to popular office printers using infrared and Bluetooth connections.

“Smartphones are increasingly being used for traditional office computing functionality such as e-mail, messaging and documents,” said Glenn Bachmann, president and founder of Bachmann Software. “Just as they would on their laptop computers, mobile business users who receive important attachments over e-mail on their smartphone expect to be able to open, view and print those attachments. With PrintBoy for Series 60, we’ve delivered on that expectation by giving smartphone customers the ability to produce hardcopies of their important documents anytime, anywhere.”

Bachmann Software previewed PrintBoy for Series 60 with Nokia at the CTIA Wireless tradeshow in March, as an exhibitor in Forum Nokia's “Developer Showcase,” an invitation-only sales event. Bachmann also demonstrated the new Series 60-compatible version of PrintBoy, as well as a new MemAlert memory management utility, to all CTIA attendees as part of the Forum Nokia “Developer Pavilion” within the Nokia booth on the CTIA exhibit floor.

The Series 60 smartphone architecture provides users with all the basic and advanced cellular phone functions in a compact device characterized by a large color screen, rich communications and enhanced applications. Nokia created the Series 60 Platform and licenses it to leading cell phone vendors Legend, Panasonic, Samsung, Sendo and Siemens, who together with Nokia make up nearly two-thirds of global cell phone sales. Series 60 devices feature large, high-resolution screens with up to 65,000 colors, at least 4MB of memory, and support thousands of software titles.

“Bachmann has a strong track record in developing innovative utilities and applications for the mobile professional workforce,” said Chris Lovejoy, Forum Nokia business development manager-Americas. “We’re very excited to have their talents and business skills as part of the rapidly growing Series 60 developer community.”

PrintBoy for Series 60 is now available for purchase from the Bachmann Software store at and through online store partners, at a price of $19.99 per copy.
